One of many things I love about David’s art is that he draws the world we live in. Look at the people in this bar. That’s not the roster of body shapes, races, and fashion styles that you’d see in the average comic. But it is the variety we see in real life in virtually any large American city. And that’s amazing. I want my comics to feel like they take place in our world and having the people who populate the comics look like the people around us is crucial to that. Being able to depict that so naturally and organically isn’t common, but it’s one of David’s (many) strengths.
