This second collection of short stories about everyday people with unusual powers (who are definitely not superheroes) focuses much more on love and death than I remember the first volume doing. Not that there’s anything wrong with that! “Pangs? is a terrific horror romance, while “Sad and Beautiful Life? ends very sweetly.
