Brubaker and Phillips are the reigning kings of noir comics. This tale, a noir/superhero mashup about a former supervillain in the witness protection program learning about himself and his life, is dark, smart, and compelling. Brubaker’s ideas are sharp and Phillips’ art is perfect for this kind of comic. Really great stuff.
