Absolute Sandman Vol. 1, by Neil Gaiman and various artists

This is my third or fourth time through the deep, expansive, rewarding Sandman series. This time, though, I’m enjoying the Absolute treatment: hardcover, much larger pages on higher-quality paper, re-colored art, and substantial backmatter (notes, scripts, sketches). Despite these stories coming relatively early in Gaiman’s comics career, it’s still accomplished, appealing work.
